Many expected the win to come easily as the show has been a global phenomenon with record-breaking watch time. Squid Game had been initially nominated for three awards this year: Best Drama Series, Best Foreign Language Series, and Best Actor in a Drama Series (Lee Jung Jae). In addition to the showŌĆÖs big win, Lee Jung Jae appeared genuinely shocked to win the best actor in a drama, over Sterling K.
