BIFF said all planned events and screenings will be held at full capacity with 100 percent seating available as in the pre-pandemic years. The much-anticipated festival will return to its full scale for the first time in three years after the pandemic struck. Guests attending this yearвҖҷs festival include Tony Leung Chiu Wai, who will be honored with the Asian Film Actor of the Year Award,Lee Byung Hun, Satoshi Tsumabuki, Masataka Kubota, Ryo Kase, Yukino Kishii andHirokazu Kore-eda. On LeungвҖҷs attendance, six of his films вҖ”2046,The Eagle Shooting Heroes, Infernal Affairs, The Longest Nite, Happy Together andIn the Mood for Love вҖ” will be screened during the festival. Nine drama series, including Lars von TrierвҖҷs miniseries The Kingdom Exodus, Takeshi MiikeвҖҷs Connect, Kimo StamboelвҖҷs Blood Curse, Lee Joon IkвҖҷs Yonder, Jung Ji WooвҖҷs Somebody, You Su MinвҖҷs Weak Hero Class 1, Lee HojaeвҖҷs Recipe for Farewell, Roh DeokвҖҷs Glitch and Jeon Woo SungвҖҷs Bargain, will be shown at the вҖңOn ScreenвҖқ section, which was launched last year to introduce quality original series produced by streaming platforms, like Netflix. A new section called вҖҳKorean Cinema Today – Special PremiereвҖҷ will showcase two films including 20th Century Girl by Bang Woo Ri and The Boys by Chung Ji Young. The lineup for the вҖҳKorean Cinema Today вҖ“ PanoramaвҖҷ section features Hansan: Rising Dragon, Anchor, The PolicemanвҖҷs Lineage, Next Sohee, Highway Family, Open the Door, Juhee from 5 to 7, A Letter from Kyoto and Dream Palace. Various international titles will be presented at the event, including White Noise by Noah Baumbach, Triangle of Sadness by Ruben Цstlund, Close by Lukas Dhont, Crimes of the Future by David Cronenberg, Armageddon Time by James Gray, and Even if This Love Disappears from the World Tonight by Takahiro Miki. The festival will open with Hadi Mohaghegh вҖҳs Scent of Wind and close with Ishikawa KeiвҖҷs A Man.
